The GOP gets a Nader of its own

Bob Barr, former Republican Congressman from Georgia, is running for President on the Libertarian ticket. As a Democrat, I wholeheartedly support Barr’s candidacy and wish him nothing but the best. Let’s hope he can split the Republican vote by capturing the Ron Paul faction and/or some of the values voters disenchanted with McCain.

Now, I doubt this is terribly likely given Libertarian candidates’ historically poor performance but a serious challenge to McCain from the Right would certainly make for a more interesting race.
