Wrenching
That was my reaction to Jeffrey Gettlemen’s NYTimes piece about the potential famine threatening the Horn of Africa. With the food prices escalating globally, this most depressed corner of the world will surely fare worse than most. This is grim stuff people so if you are prone to tears or would like to keep your Friday light and breezy, skip the article. I am not joking…

Yeah, you really weren't kidding were you? It is so terrible. But I am glad Gettlemen went for the emotional jugular when he wrote this piece--clearly he's appelaing to us to help make a change. It is so so heartbreaking knowing it's going on--and also understanding why there's little we can do to help--but hopefully we can do something.
That W is using this as some platform to talk about Al Qaeda*
to (1) help justify our continuing war in Iraq and (2) dampen American interest in helping this African region is beyond reprehensible; it's murder. F W.
*I can't help but think that Al Qaeda is a force about 8897% greater in his head than actually exists in the world

I promise I’m not spam. I’m the Marketing Manger for Turner Publishing.
I’m going around to all local bloggers and freelancers to let them know about our new book, the Historic Photos of Norfolk. We’d love to send you a complimentary copy of one or both for possible review consideration on your blog. This title is done in a large 10x10 format and all images represent rare or never before seen photos of Norfolk. We’re trying to get the word out to local folks, so I hope you don’t mind me dropping you a line to let you know about our books!
Hope to hear from you soon.
