Our secret plan is a triple bank shot

The Pilot is reporting that the Commonwealth has a secret plan to entice Ford to retain the Norfolk assembly plant. I would be a helluva lot more confident in this scheme if they could let us know what it is. Apparently, Governor Kaine has not had "adequate" time to review the plan, and hence, the details cannot be revealed. Um, OK. What could be more pressing than saving 5,000 plus jobs affected by the closure? I am a big supporter of Tim Kaine but this recent new does not give me a warm fuzzy. So step up to the plate Guv we really need an assist here.

Refresh me - is it better for the economy to buy a Honda made in Ohio or a Dodge made in Korea? I know it's old but you can bet your ass Honda does not have the terrible burden of the retiree's health care nut to wake up to every day. "OK guys the first billion we make this year is for the people that used to work here. The next billion is for our CEOs and we'll see what we can do for you with what comes next." I understand closing the plant that makes the POS Ranger and the plant that makes the woefully undereverythinged Ford 500. But to close the plant that they just spent $356 million or whatever to modernize with the highest quality control in the country that makes the best selling vehicular product in the country for the last 20 years somewhat amazes me. The next thing you will hear is that they want to close NOB Norfolk - whoops, did I say that out loud?
