Sickening

Yesterday was not a good news day. A few months back, a squad of Marines murdered, in cold blood, an entire Iraqi family (women, children, etc.) in retaliation for the death of a comrade in a nearby IED explosion. The New York Times is now reporting that the internal investigation was really a cover up of these crimes. Soldiers lied to the investigating officers and the officers didn't inquire further even though a senior official stated "There were enough inconsistencies that things didn't add up".

Hearts and minds indeed. Can we please get the hell out of Iraq now?

Also, we got the news that US troops shot and killed a pregnant woman as she was being rushed to the hospital. From the article, it appears to have been an accident but what a damn tragedy.

This shit makes me want to cry.
